Capilano Suspension Bridge Park sought to elevate its annual Canyon Lights festival by introducing a captivating visual story-telling experience that would immerse visitors in the magic of the rainforest during the holiday season telling the history of the park and the wildlife brought to the area.

The Project

As the Creative Director at Go2 Productions, I led the development of a projection mapping installation designed to bring the park's natural surroundings to life. We introduced "Doug," an animated fir tree character who guided guests through a whimsical rainforest journey. Doug's storytelling was complemented by dynamic visuals that highlighted the beauty and spirit of the forest, seamlessly integrating with the park's lush landscape. To ensure the installation's durability in the outdoor environment, we engineered weatherproof enclosures for the projectors, allowing for consistent performance throughout the festival.

The Results

The projection mapping experiences quickly became a highlight of the 2019/2020 Light festivals, enchanting visitors and receiving widespread acclaim. The innovative visuals and engaging narrative not only elevated the park's festive atmosphere but also demonstrated Go2 Productions' expertise in merging technology with environmental storytelling.
