Performance for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. Canada’s unions staged a unique and powerful performance with music Electric Pow Wow Drum by A Tribe Called Red, which featured video, holograms projected behind a first nations dance that honours Canada’s missing and murdered Indigenous women.
The Project
I did the video graphics for the piece. The women wee filmed underwaters so they would appear to move without gravity, similar to the movement of ghosts. This required a lot of rotoscoping to get the job complete due to the extensive costume pieces and hair. The result of their movement time-ramped to the beats of A Tribe called Red landed with huge success with over 200,000k views online.
